How does observing and documenting a child’s development help early learning providers?

Observing and documenting a child’s development helps early learning providers by allowing them to keep track of a child’s progress. For example, if a teacher notices that one student is developmentally behind their peers, they can note this and keep track of the development. Throughout the year the teacher can check in to see if the child has improved the developmental delay or not. Based off of what the teacher observes, he/she can determine what the next steps are for the child.
