Its never to easily to have the children clean up! My children through away their napkins and put their cups on counter after snack. I might have to help the younger kitty’s but once they start to sho it it becomes second nature for them. Shows them responsibility! They do their cleanup then I follow behind them and clean the table with cleaner. Then we are of too the next activity!!

I give a 5 minute warning before cleanup with a red timer. I remind children at the beep we will all be cleaning up. At the time of the beep I sing the cleanup song and clean along side the children and continue to remind any other children watching we all clean up together. I sometime add a toy to a child watching and ask politely if they could find the home for the toy. Cleanup is a smooth activity for my daycare.

Igive a5 minute warning that it’s almost time to clamp so the children are abruptly interrupted and in having to stop playing. Sometimes when I give the 5 minute warning, one or two might start to pickup. When it’s time to pickup I hand the little ones a toy and ask them to put away. Then we are finished and off to the next activity!

My kiddos are great for cleaning up. I prompt them and the clean. If i get a new kid who doesn’t it can take several prompts and day but eventually they fall in line and follow what the other kids are doing. Sometimes I also put on music for some clean up excitement.

I find giving children certain task (s) during clean up helps my children. For example, John, you pick up all the red blocks and Sam you get all the green ones. Or let’s all pick up 5 trains each and we will have it all cleaned up.
