GuestNovember 26, 2025 at 5:35 pmI’ve been exposed to many different cultures all my life. Recently, within the last few year I’ve traveled abroad and have gotten to experience new food and cultures which have been so beautiful. I think trying different foods from different cultures is one of the best ways to interact and learn about a certain culture.

GuestDecember 14, 2025 at 11:53 pmI have had different experiences with different cultures, Hindu Indian, Hispanic, Norwegian. It was fun to explore different cultures, trying different foods, listening to music and just meeting people. I would love to involve my kids in this. Let them explore what cultures are around them.

GuestDecember 22, 2025 at 10:25 pmWe typically celebrate different cultural holidays by talking about them in class (either a teacher, student, or parent will educate us on the celebration) making crafts or food dishes that coordinate with the holiday, or read books about it.

GuestDecember 26, 2025 at 4:18 pmYes, I have had the privilege of working with other cultures in the programs I’ve worked. I have worked with families from Japan, China, Germany, and Mexico. The families would do things with us, such as bringing in cultural foods and drinks that honored celebrations (they included explanations on what the celebration was, and why the foods/drinks were important/what they represented within the culture). Sometimes the families would bring in books from their home for us to read with the kids, and they were always super helpful when it came to asking how to say something in their native language and how to pronounce words.

GuestDecember 29, 2025 at 9:43 pmThe neighborhood I grew up in had a large filipino community. In the 15 years my family lived there we experienced all kinds of culture foods and festivals. Being Mexican we even found some similarities in some of our regional dishes and even in our languages .

GuestDecember 30, 2025 at 4:02 amYes, I have a memory from being is child care and having a Native American man come in every now and then and share stories from his culture. Along with these stories he’d bring in souvenirs for the kids to take home. I can’t recall the specifics, but my favorite story was about the moon, and we received rocks that looked like the moon. And those connected with me hard. I think story telling is such in integral part to every culture and a fun way to share them with others. And the keepsakes afterwards, I think, extend how long a kid will remember about that specific culture.

GuestJanuary 2, 2026 at 8:36 pmI love to travel and experience/learn about different cultures! One thing I make sure to do whenever I travel is to take historical tours to learn more about the history of a place and how things came to be. When I come back home, I like to bring souvenirs for my students and teach them about the different cultural things I learned (in an easier way for them to understand).

GuestJanuary 19, 2026 at 2:09 amWhen I was a young adult, after working hard during my studies and saving for years, I left everything to travel the world with my backpack. There is no better way to open your eyes and broaden your mind, these experiences also stay with you for the rest of your life. It is also highly valuable as you can pass it down to children in your classroom, telling them stories about other people’s way of life, other cultures, etc. Books are also a gold mine and extremely precious to teach about diversity.

GuestFebruary 8, 2026 at 8:57 pmGrowing up my best friends family was from India, so I grew up going to his place and hearing a lot of Hindi. I was also invited to pray with them at their home when I was spending the evening there. It made me feel like I had a strong community in their family that – even though I didn’t practice their religion – that they would include me in such an important practice. So I think just including people in important traditions even if they are not accustomed to them is an amazing way to learn about other cultures.
