I would give them a tour of the classroom and playground so they can become familiar with important areas such as the bathroom, cubbies, activity centers, and outdoor play spaces. I would explain the rules in a fun and positive way using simple language, games, or songs to help them understand expectations. I would also introduce them to teachers and classmates to help them make friends and feel included. To help them adjust to the daily routine, I would provide reminders about upcoming activities and transitions throughout the day. Most importantly, I would offer encouragement, reassurance, and praise to build their confidence and help them feel comfortable. By creating a welcoming and supportive environment, every child can have a positive start to their child care experience.
