Understanding time management and what needs are needed to be met throughout the day. Have a mixture of fun, educational, engaging activities that each age group can enjoy

I thnik providing toys that encourage fine motor skills, such as building blocks and shape sorters, as well as toys that promote language and cognitive development, such as books and puzzles.

A daily schedule should start out with breakfast and include lunch as well as snack times. Play time should be included into the schedule indoors as well as outdoors, and children should be taken outside at least once a day. My daily schedule would include nap time depending on the age group. Daily schedules should include interactive activities such as an art project and ensure the kids are learning and exploring new things.

A great tip to having the kids really enjoy the schedule you create is to have them participate with it as well. This can be done during a circle time or morning circle.

If I were to create and maintain a daily schedule I would keep it structured but still be able to allow for adjustments. I would also take into consideration how many activities I planned on doing. I would want the children to be actively engaged but not have too many activities or time constraints that would make them feel overwhelmed.

Be Flexible! try out a routine for a week or two, and if kids need more or less time allotted for certain activities, alter your routine accordingly!

Any routine is good, start by what times they get there, dismissal, aftercare options. Chunk out portions of time for physical movements as well as mental work.

Keeping in mind the age group, I would start scheduling with mealtime and “checking body” time. And then I would incorporate different activities. I believe, I can prepare several activities and be flexible – keeping in mind number of kids, their mood.

When creating a daily schedule for children I think its important to keep in mind the age range of the children. Typically a full day starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Also keep in mind to plan out each activity for the day.

When creating a schedule there needs to be an understanding of the age group of children it will be for. I would put the circle time in the schedule. Children will know from this that after the lesson we have a free game, and then lunch. I will have a very set routine so that the children will get used to the daily routine faster.

Do you have any tips or advice on creating and maintaining a daily schedule for children?

I think involving the children in the routine is a great way for them to feel apart of the routine or schedule. Giving them a sense of comfort when it comes to the routines and schedules of the classroom.

When creating a schedule, you’re also thinking about the routine. The child is going to develop so you can start by morning greetings breakfast outside time free play afternoon meeting lunch in between snacks and goodbye greetings all these are very important for children so they are able to create their routine and will help with their development when they’re older

When creating a schedule keep it simple and easy for the children to understand. Along with consistent meal time, like breakfast, lunch, and dinner, if the time of the day calls for it, incorporate time for activities, play (indoor or outdoor), rest, and programing for specific age groups.
