it can help to brainstorm on a piece of paper all the different interests the children in your class have expressed. From there, brainstorm ideas for different activities/projects that incorporate these interests. Then organize these activities/projects into a structured learning plan that can be implemented as part of the classes schedule.

It is important to take into account the individual needs of your children. Meal times, naps, outdoor time, circle are all important aspects to keep consistent so the children have some security and predictability. I personally also believe it is important for regular art activities to be integrated into this schedule. Depending on the group of children, perhaps it would be appropriate to structure other themed activities so you can best aid in their healthy development.

When creating a daily schedule for children, focus on consistency and flexibility. Consistency helps children feel secure and understand what to expect, while flexibility allows you to adjust the schedule to meet their evolving needs. Incorporate a balance of structured activities and free play to support their development and engagement. Regularly assess how the schedule is working and be open to making adjustments to better suit the children’s needs and interests.

When making a daily schedule I would start by having the children put their stuff away and wash their hands and have them sit at the table and have breakfast for them and then have the other meal times ready for them as well and then write down how ate and didn’t eat much then have the play time and other activites ready for them now the routine might change but it all depends how much time and If the kids moods as well I would say.

The advice I have is to thoughtfully create a schedule that will meet the need of the children in your program, but then observe how that schedule is meeting their needs and be flexible within that schedule.

When creating our daily schedules, I typically start with scheduled breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. From here I add in my own work hours, outside play, and sleep hours. Then, I layer in the time for special activities.

Keeping a daily routine helps kids know what to expect and feel secure. Mix in active play, quiet time, and learning activities, and don’t forget regular breaks for snacks and rest. Be ready to adjust if needed based on how they’re feeling. Let the kids help plan—it gives them a sense of control. Using charts or pictures can also help younger kids understand what’s next. This way, the day stays smooth and fun!

I would schedule the learning time in the morning and leave the afternoon for lunch and nap time followed by snack and parent pick up.

Take into account the children’s preferences and include them in the decision-making process. Consider utilizing printed timetables, kitchen timers, behavior charts, and smartphone reminders. Include children in daily tasks such as making lists and food shopping.

Having a regular schedule for children is very important because it creates a routine for learning time. In addition, established schedules help children know what to expect and how to contribute their time, such as having time to eat breakfast, read, do yoga or exercise, make schedule adjustments, and do any activity that is appropriate for the children age and needs.
