    if I was a parent to a child the 3 thing I would want most from my child provider is for the providers

    1. to care for my child like it was there own.

    2.make sure they are safe at all time.

    3.being there for them when they need it, and including them in any type of activity.

    If I were a parent of a young child, I would want my child’s provider to be a good communicator and problem solver. I would also want them to be nurturing and flexible to adapt to certain situation.

    If I was a parent and I took my child to a daycare, I would want the care provider to:

    1) Be kind and friendly to my child.

    2) Make sure that my child is safe.

    3) Report to e how my child’s day went.

    My fears would be:

    1) My child gets abused or neglected by the care provider.

    2) My child gets bullied by his/her peers or injured.

    3) My child misbehaves or bullies his/her peers.

    Three things I would want / hope for my child in early childhood classroom setting:
    Genuine Care from the Heart, Engaging and Exciting learning environment, and Sense of community.

    Three things that I would be worried about:

    That my child is feeling left out / not part of the group, Concern that the teachers seem disengaged or distracted, and worried about my child’s overall well-being.

    I would want my child’s provider to be kind and gentle to my child. I’d also want them to teach them to be the same with others.

    Fears I would have leaving my child in someone else’s care are that they would be harmed or neglected. Also, that they aren’t feeling welcome or are bullied by other children.

    the three things i would want from my child’s provider;

    is accept them for who they are, be kind to all the children you interact or work with during the day, and let the kids ask questions or repeat other things that have already been brought up.

    three fears i have would be;

    not being able to have an open conversation with my child’s teacher, hearing my child getting told off for needing reminders about certain issues and not having a set schedule i can see.

    I would want that they care for them how they care for others, support, trust and advice. three things would be that they don’t pay attention to my kid, don’t help them or support them if they need it and if they are not taking good care of them or yelling at them.

    When leaving my child in the care of someone, I would want them to nurture my child with love and kindness, keep them safe and give them fun learning experiences. My fear would be that they would neglect the needs of my child or not be concerned with their safty.

    1. Books that mention or introduce my child to things like different kinds of families, different hair types and different cultures, maybe even books that introduce words in my child’s home language and their English equivalent to encourage feeling connected to her culture even when they are somewhere new

    2. An understanding and communicative teacher that would send me updates on my child’s progression towards milestones and performance and daily/challenging activities! I.e., “Hannah” did a great job on our hike today and practiced patience very well waiting for the whole group to be ready to continue, etc.

    3. A space in the classroom where things like family photos are available to look at, or pictures of the children and things like their art are hung up, to emphasize a feeling of connectedness between the classroom, the child, and the family.

    Communication, I want open and honest communication with my child’s provider to know how my child is doing, what they are learning, and any issues that may arise. Safety and security, I want to feel confident that my child is safe and secure in the care of their provider, and that the environment is clean, healthy, and age-appropriate. Quality care and education, I want my child to receive quality care that supports their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development, and that aligns with my family’s values and beliefs.
