My favorite age to work with are the early preschoolers (2-3) because I love the curiosity that they demonstrate, and the sense of self that they begin to develop as they become more independent and vocal.

My favorite age to work with are toddlers. Interestingly enough, if I had been asked this question a few years ago I would have said something different. I did not realize how amazing working with toddlers would be. I always viewed toddlers and babies as nothing more than such. However, toddlers experience a tremendous amount of growth and learning in the first few years of their life. This was something I did not realize until I started working with this age. It is amazing to watch how toddlers learn new things every day, and just how fast they grow. I would argue that the first few years of a child’s life are the most important ones, as how they are treated by parents and caregivers set the foundation of how they will be as children. How we act around our toddlers really do affect their development. They are truly like sponges, absorbing everything they see and hear.

favorite age sharingMy favorite age is infant. I love to watch them learn something brand new and infants love to show off when they learn something new. For instance at my center we teach the infants sign language and activities like stacking blocks. I also love encouraging them to stand and walk.

My favorite age would be 6 months to year old. They are learning so much and it is so fun to see personalities emerge, language develop and see those first few steps. The curiosity and eagerness to learn is such a fun thing to watch and encourage.

My favorite age group would be 6mo-8mo because they are more inquisitive of the world around them. They begin to move around and be more interactive.

My favorite age in early childhood is 3-4 year olds. They really start coming out of their shell and into their own talkative bubbling personalities with some defiance mixed in as well.

I’m new to early learning and don’t really have a favorite age yet. I was drawn to this field because I love spending time with the babies and toddlers. There is so much going on in terms of development in the first few years. Its just so exciting to see this growth and be apart of the warm nurturing environment children need to flourish.

My favorite age to teach is 5-3 year olds because they begin communicating more and more, and want to learn new things. They may not make complete sense while chatting but they sure love to share their thoughts. They also are beginning to recognize and be aware of their surroundings more.

What is your favorite age in early childhood (e.g., toddlers, four year-olds, etc.), and why?I think toddlers are my favorite because I love seeing how much they learn and it happens right before your eyes. They are creative and so much fun to interact and play with.

My favorite age to work with would have to be the Pre-Kindergardeners; ages 4-5. This is because the children are at the stage where they are more aware of who they are and are more aware of their surroundings. They’re very enjoyable to work with, since they listen (most of the time) and are very intuitive and love answering and asking questions.

My favorite age to work with is also preschool (3-5 years). I enjoy the questions they ask, the insights they have to add to discussions between classmates, and their curiosity.

I don’t have a favorite age necessarily however I do love pre-k and kindergarten because watching kids learn to read and write is such fun! It’s so cool to watch them become confident in each activity they try and try again.

My favorite ages are two and four year olds. I enjoy working with two year olds because at that age they are learning many different new words and it is also very exciting watching them pick up on the littlest things. Simple words as “thank you” and “please”. We play a game with the little ones “feeding the monster”, we hand them each different color popsicle sticks and they try to pronounce the color and then they put the popsicle stick into a decorated box. While this is a way for them to learn their colors it is also a fun activity. Working with four year olds is also exciting because eveyrday it is something new, watching them learn how to write their name, learn simple patterns.
