An early learning provider must transition children who are able to climb out of their sleeping equipment to developmentally appropriate sleep equipment. When parents do not agree with transitioning, the provider and parent will cocreate a transition plan.

MemberSeptember 15, 2024 at 10:25 pmOnly place infants to sleep in an appropriate location, such as a crib, bassinet, or playpen. There should be no toys or loose blankets with the infant, and they should be laid on their back to sleep.

MemberSeptember 16, 2024 at 9:53 pmFor a 2-month-old infant, you should use a firm, flat crib, bassinet, or play yard that meets safety standards. The sleep surface should have a fitted sheet, and there should be no soft bedding, pillows, blankets, or toys in the sleep area to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Always place the baby on their back for sleep, following safe sleep guidelines.

You use a single-level crib, infant bed, bassinet, or playpen. The mattress must fit snuggly and each child must have their own sleep space separate from each other.

Swaddle Blankets: If the baby enjoys being swaddled, use a lightweight, breathable swaddle blanket to help them feel secure. Ensure it’s not too tight and allows for some movement.
