In order for children to engage and have meaningful learner would be first to learn some of the kids interests. For example if the children prefer to do art introduce learning activities that crayons or coloring pencils can be used. If children in animals read books about animals and they can engage by saying the animal sounds along with the story.

A good way to engage children is by asking them questions such as what are you cooking, what are you drawing. I think that listening and allowing them to feel comfortable expressing their creativity is equally important.

Making sure to learn the child’s interests, and building on that. If we’re learning about dinosaurs, we can pretend to be dinosaurs, and eat the food like they would eat. We can sing songs about them, and read books too. While doing a project, we can talk about different materials we’re using, the color and the texture of them, and what they do. We can talk about the safe ways we can use the materials, and all the different things we can create with them.

it is important to learn about each child and their likes/dislikes and needs. Learning about every child can help you lesson plan

Creative ways I would use to engage the children would be to use real-world examples they have experienced and make sure to give each child the opportunity to share their ideas or thoughts on the example. When reading a story for example I will ask silly questions or some more brain-inducing questions as I read along. When we are outside I will ask them to tell me the weather at the time and their favorite part about being outside. Asking the children questions that give them the opportunity to grow and expand as an individual and as a whole is an essential part of what I hope to achieve as a teacher.

Fun ways to get children involved is introducing new things and making them very exciting, but also find the things they are most interested in and have them show you or tell you about the object they love. Then you tell them about your object and why it is so cool.

Letting children choose things they are interested in creates a trust that they will be a part of the classroom and help with the decisions for lessons. They are much more likely to participate when they have input.

Ask thoughtful questions that make the child think and think of creative answers.

I try to engage children by letting them help out in lessons and engaging all of their senses where I can during lessons. For instance, giving them something they can hold/feel, something they can see or hear, etc. Also, like this chapter discussed, asking a lot of questions that don’t just end with yes or no answers.

Pay attention what children are most interested in and incorporate those things into their learning.

First observe the way they learn and the things that the children/child enjoy(s) doing. Bring in lots of color, find ways to tie the lessons into things they already find interesting and ask them questions to get them curious and interested in the answers or lessons we are learning.

You can be excited and show how doing the activity can be fun at the same time they could be learning.

A good way that is creative to get children engaged is to relate the topic to something they like. Another way is to show how excited you are.
