Observing and documenting a child’s development helps early learning providers understand the child better and it also helps them understand if the child’s development is going in the right direction or wrong direction.

Observing and documenting a child’s development can help an early child provider by enabling them to present concrete information to a parent/guardian if we are focusing on a specific developmental scaffold and to present concrete evidence for a referral to address a developmental delay.

Find the best tools to support the child and to meet where the child is at their level so that each child can’t feel safe and comfortable in their own types of learning styles and to better get a grasp of How the provider can better work in lessons that would work better overall. Plus with the close observation and the care, it helps the kid feel safe and seen and feel included and strengthens their ability to learn.

Observation and documentation helps early learning providers interact with the children in developmentally and age appropriate ways to continue their journey of learning and development. Each child is vastly different on this continuum of development, so having knowledge of their place along the continuum is paramount to creating an environment and providing materials conducive to their learning.

How does observing and documenting a child’s development help early learning providers? Being able to observe and document a child’s development is a big thing I think because they will hit milestones and I would want those documented so it helps us who needs the extra help and who doesn’t.

Observation helps you by allowing you to see and document how a child is progressing and developing. This is important in a classroom setting because it allows you to gear the way you interact with that child depending on where they are developmentally.

It is important to observe children as each child is vastly different from the other. When observing a child you can learn about how they learn, the functions of their behaviors, and more. It is through documentation that you are able to log data on these individual pieces that you are observing about a child.

- Observing and documenting a child’s development can help early learning providers because we can then determine whether or not the child is on the right path for growth and development or whether or not they need extra help and focus on certain areas it can also help us to create and adjust our curriculum by knowing where the majority of the class falls and who may or may not need help for certain activities.

By figuring out where each child is developmentally, teachers can adjust their curriculum to cater to the students’ current level, exercising the skills they have recently learned and challenging them to grow to the next level.
