Creating a “to do” folder for the week for all of the filler or lower priority items has helped for when there’s some extra time and I can see what needs done or delegated to do by the end of the week. I also have a personalized planner to help set out monthly lesson planning, daily activities, as well as to get lists for supplies to keep me on track. Creating checklists in the planner has helped to see what still needs to get done by a certain time as well.

I like to file materials for planned activities with a folder for each day of the week. This way, I can prep activities and pull them out quickly when it is time. If you have nap time in your classroom, I highly recommend dedicating at least 15 minutes to prepping lessons!
Another time-saving strategy in my classroom is combining routines, such as putting outdoor shoes on children’s spots on the circle time rug so they can change into their outdoor shoes while we read a book and sing circle time songs. This way, we are ready to go right after circle time, and children also have something to keep their bodies busy.

I made time schedule and task list for my assistants so they can see what is my expectation and should be done every day.

Smart work for educators is to play nursery rhyme videos that are more enjoyable for kids.
