MemberFebruary 29, 2024 at 2:40 pmWe have weekly staff meetings to discuss things we need to improve on and also ideas to try in the future. Im thinking it may be a good idea to have a drop box for ideas for people to use if they feel uncomfortable in a group setting.
-
Great suggestion, Trisha! Setting up a drop box for ideas can provide a comfortable space for sharing and encourage creativity among the team. Keep fostering open communication!

How about setting up a weekly “Inspo Hour”? Basically, you can all gather around and share what’s been sparking our creativity lately. Whether it’s a funky art project you stumbled upon or a cool new game idea, it’s all fair game! It’s like a mini-show-and-tell, but way more fun and inspiring. Plus, it’s a great way to bond with the team and get those creative juices flowing.

- Schedule regular brainstorming sessions where staff can come together to share ideas and suggestions in a relaxed environment.
- Assign collaborative projects that require teamwork and problem-solving skills to develop new initiatives.
- Introduce fun and creative challenges or competitions to encourage staff to showcase their innovative ideas and talents.
- Plan team-building activities outside of work hours to strengthen bonds among staff members and promote a supportive work environment.

MemberAugust 5, 2024 at 7:47 pmWe have monthly trainings at the last Friday of each month. We use that time to complete training and discuss updates/changes. We allow time for others to voice their opinions/concerns/ideas. One teacher gave me a small white board to hang up in my office and if she has any ideas, she can go write them down for me. We take time to discuss kids and families in her class and come up with ideas on how to better teach/guide them.
-
Germaine, it’s great that you have monthly trainings for discussing updates and ideas. Using a whiteboard for idea sharing and discussing kids and families is a wonderful way to boost creativity. Keep it up!

MemberAugust 16, 2024 at 2:23 pmWe have an idea box in our office to allow staff members to drop their ideas on how to boost our childcare program. This allows some staff who may not want to speak up about a change or new idea to still have input.
-
Shawna, the idea box is a great way to encourage staff to share their ideas and boost creativity. It ensures that all voices are heard. Good initiative!

MemberAugust 30, 2024 at 7:26 pmOne of my favorite collaboration activities is to get people to create something together. In doing this, people’s personalities come through, which can help to strengthen dynamics between personalities that may appear to be opposite and gives them a common goal to strive for

MemberSeptember 25, 2024 at 12:37 amI highly value teamwork between our staff members. I understand that everyone has a perspective and that it will be different than others, this can only add value to the team. I encourage input by having multiple meetings with various groups of my staff. I have weekly meetings with my administrative staff, and I have weekly check-ins with my teachers. We have monthly staff meetings for the whole organization. I am always seeking the opinions of others. Many of my employees who have been with me for a while know that I want their input, and they come to me with ideas.
-
Catlyn, your approach to teamwork and open communication is commendable. It’s great to see you actively seeking input and encouraging collaboration among your staff. Keep up the good work!
