We had a very happy child who ended up with a teacher that was not very kind, she ended up not having a good experience. It changed her moods dramatically.

That is too bad. Its unfortunate for that child. That one experience could negatively influence and change that child’s attitude to life, learning and their confidence as well.

My daughter had a scary experience with water on her face when she was 2 years old. Now, until this day, at 14 years old she does not like to go underwater or get it in her eyes.

There was a child who the previous year had a “mean it teacher”. She wasn’t mean but she had high expectations and meant it when she said something. The child was well behaved, compliant and smart. When faced with this teacher he shut down, refused to do any work or completed his work correctly but proceeded to scribble out the whole page. He started not wanting to go to preschool and decided he did not like school at age 3. The next year he had a super fun and bubbly teacher and refers to that year as his best year ever!
