I know children through tutoring that never thought they were “good” at math or science because someone once told them they wouldn’t be ( often times a parent who was most likely told the same thing growing up). I chose to be in early childhood education so I can be a positive first experience in a classroom setting and I have students now graduating high school telling me they heard my voice telling them “ this may be hard, but you can do hard things” and that it made all the difference between failing or trying again. How powerful that is.
