Yes. I suggest an animal that likes to be held. Children can experience giving affection to the animal and learn it’s behavior when the animal receives that affection. It will let them learn respect and discipline. This small “pet” will provide a smile and joy to the children. It will be uplifting for them to experience positivity, love and kindness outside of the home.

Yes, animals are an effective teaching tool. I own an in-home daycare and we have two dogs in our home. I have had the dogs since they were babies. So not only did it teach my children some life lessons it has also taught the children in care as well. It teaches children how to be gentle and you can use an animal to relay the child’s feelings as well as the animals.

I think animals are a great learning tool. I believe it stimulates learning and enhances the learning environment. I believe it also helps provide children with a connection to the outside world.

Yes, animals are a great learning tool, they provide children with opportunities to learn empathy and compassion for other living beings, which can foster a sense of kindness and respect for all living creatures.

Yes , I do think having animals in the classroom promotes several benefits for both the children and teachers. Animals can help reduce stress or even produce serotonin. They will teach students responsibility for feeding and giving them water.

I do believe children can learn from animals. And the teachers can let the students compare themself to an animals as well. for example “Bobby can run fast like a cheetah, it boosts a child’s confidence for doing good.

I believe animals are a good productive way of putting a smile on a child’s face. This also shows how to take responsibility of taking care an animal as well. Even if we don’t have a pet in the classroom I’ve seen teachers use a stuff animal or plastic toy as a classroom pet and students were able to take the classroom pet (toy) home for the night and bring it back the next day. The child is able to share what they did with the classroom pet. As of right now I’ve been telling my students what my puppy has been up to almost everyday. I also show updated picture of my puppy as well. Students love see pictures of my puppy as well as my cat.

Animals are a great teaching tool. I believe so because they are loving. But i also think that they learn from learned behavior as well as kids.

Yes I believe animals are great in a classroom. I have always had a fish. The children loved it and named it they helped take care of it. Alot of our children came from intense homes or foster care so it was their first experience. We always had positive reactions. The children would go watch the fish if they were upset also.

Thank you for sharing this Therese! Yes, having a fish can be a wonderful way to introduce children to the joys of pet ownership and help provide a sense of comfort and security for those who may be experiencing difficult circumstances at home or in their personal lives.

Animals are a great tool in the classroom! They help reduce stress, anxiety, and create a natural learning environment. They are also a great conversation piece. Plus, you can talk about the animal as part of circle time. You can teach them to take care of the animal, including feeding, watering, toileting, and give it lots of love.

Animals can have a lasting impact on children. My niece was attacked by a German shepherd once and instead of being afraid of new dogs like one might think she still loves them! This is mostly likely do to her always having one while growing up and she understands that sometimes when a dog feels threatened they will defend. Now she is more cautious around dogs but still just as loving and excited to meet them.
