Move beyond the yes/no question and ask things that require a response. Try to ask things that will satisfy the 5 senses. I have found it helpful to use examples from the child’s own life to make it more meaningful.

Observation is so important because it gives you solid data points that will help you plan and implement an effective lesson/activity for the child.

The WAC about physical restraint stuck out to me as well. As a parent I am so used to picking my child up and removing them from a dangerous or unsafe situation (as I perceive it) so this was an excellent reminder!
