A multicultural education curriculum should be in place in every school.
Strongly agree. All children have the right to be respected and nurtured by knowledgeable and empathetic teachers regardless of background. Culture is important and should be respected.

Families should not be expected to be involved in classroom activities
Strongly disagree. Teachers and families should work together to ensure the child(ren) is receiving the best/cooperative care. Communication is key to a well-rounded child. Parents and teachers need to be aware of all developmental progress

Agree. Although more specialized programs need to be available for children with special needs, all classrooms need to accommodate for every child’s needs to the best of their ability.

Some extended family members may confuse children, so they should not have a voice in raising or educating the child.
Disagree. Depending on the main guardian(s) decision. Different cultures and different situations have different family layout/labor divisions. This should always be respected and taken case by case.

My curriculum should be based on each individual child’s current interests.
Agree depending on the age of the children. All children need to be meeting proper developmental milestones on top of nurturing their current interests. Following a childs, current interest can help promote faster more effective learning.

Diversity definitely includes race and culture, but doesn’t include age, ability or family make-up.
Strongly Disagree. Diversity includes all things that make a person unique.

Media in general delivers fair and accurate accounts of events around the country.
Disagree. The media does not show enough accurate non-biased diversity of opinion and people

The United States should discontinue relations with countries that engage in human rights violations.
Disagree. Cutting ourselves off from different groups of people does not solve the issue. It cuts off more people from receiving help/refuge/knowledge.
