Early learning providers can create a “serve and return” environment in several different ways. Something as simple as pointing, giving responses, looking, being patient, are all ways of showing the child you are there to help support them in this environment. That can help the child feel validated, understood, listened to. It can be great for fostering a positive learning environment.
Explain to the parent that there are laws and regulations that restrict a child staying in a care facility for over a certain amount of time. 20 minutes doesn’t seem like a big issue, but it can and will affecting staffing and also the child who has already been there for over their allotted time.
