MemberAugust 19, 2023 at 9:32 pmSchedule should be balanced and consistent day to day. There should be a balance between quiet and active times, small and large group activities, and teacher-led versus child-initiated activities throughout the day.

MemberAugust 21, 2023 at 7:25 pmTo create a routine/ schedule for kids j like to start with when outside time is when nap is and when meals are and work around that. For younger kids 1-2 10 minute circle time is enough because they don’t have higher attention spans but the most free time for arts and academics will be in the morning and in the afternoon because the middle of the day usually consists of going outside eating lunch going potty and taking a nap which ends up taking up about 3 hours of the day. But kids thrive off of these routines this way it’s less chaotic because they always know what is coming next. Very similar to a bedtime routine.

I would consider the age group I am working with when developing a daily schedule for children. I would recommend planning out meal times then activities for the children. Creating a simple schedule that is easy to follow on the daily could create a sense of security for the children.

When creating a daily schedule or routine for child it should be :
~ Age – appropriate – as the schedule for different age group will not the same .
~ Balance – the schedule should have a balance of lots of things like quiet time , active time, play time , activity time, meal time , etc
~Nutrition intake – food is very important for kids mental and physical development. So what food they exactly need to take in is very important part of the schedule.

I think it could also be fun to let the kids help create it or choose the activity for a </font>certain<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”> time of day (</font>i.e.<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”> art, literacy etc.),</font>

you do not need to know the individual activity’s in the schedule, you just need to have a schedule created. This will keep consistency in the class and the activity itself can change within the schedule.

MemberSeptember 3, 2023 at 9:28 pmIt helps to plan a schedule around events that need to occur at certain times, such as meals, snacks, and outside time. Sticking to the schedule will help keep order.

MemberSeptember 6, 2023 at 5:03 pmWhen creating a routine, keep it simple, build off of habits so they know after I do this then I do that. keep things easily accessible for children so they can go throughout the day and follow the routine with some independence and self management. When creating a schedule I would plan for activities such as art, free play, snack, lunch time, recesses and nap time.

MemberSeptember 11, 2023 at 7:39 pmWhen making a daily schedule others teachers should be included in the planning. I also think it would be fun to involve the children’s input when doing the daily interest activities or free play time. Maybe they want to learn something new or play a new game.
