I think you can make healthy habits fun by taking the shame out of them. So often adults will place a large amount of shame and judgment around “bad health” or people who have different health habits than them. Rather than say “Brush your teeth so you’re breath doesn’t smell” say “Brush your teeth to keep them strong” or instead of “Take a bath every day so you aren’t the stinky kid in class” instead you should say “Take a bath so that you can feel good and clean”.

MemberJanuary 11, 2024 at 5:14 pmI feel all healthy habits can be fun with the right attitude, the biggest thing is modeling. Children want to company you everywhere. So if you contribute into healthy practices and habits most likely the children you are around will as well. Especially with younger children leading by example, and incorporating the children into the tasks; “we’re going to brush OUR teeth now. Do you want to put toothpaste on your brush or do you want me to?” Younger children with food aversions can be persuaded to feel, smell, describe, taste and ask questions about the food without actually consuming it. Taking the pressure off of the consumption of the food and putting it onto the experience is a great way to minimize the stress of a picky eater for both parties.
