Healthy habits fun for children

MemberJanuary 11, 2024 at 5:48 pmSongs and games are always good. Something small like singing a handwashing song can be a great way to have kids enjoy handwashing. Healthy eating habits are something I think best learning by modeling, but I also think you can make a game out of it and challenge kids to try new foods and eat balanced meals.

-
Healthy Snack Creations:
- Allow children to create their own healthy snacks using a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. For example, they can make fruit kebabs or veggie faces on whole-grain crackers.
-
Interactive Cooking Sessions:
- Organize simple cooking sessions where children can participate in preparing healthy meals. Use colorful ingredients and involve them in measuring and mixing.
-
Outdoor Play:
- Plan active outdoor games and activities that promote physical exercise. Games like tag, hopscotch, or nature scavenger hunts make staying active enjoyable.
-
Creative Water Infusions:
- Encourage children to drink water by making it more exciting. Create infused water with slices of fruits like strawberries, oranges, or cucumbers. Let them choose their favorite combinations.
-
Dance and Movement Breaks:
- Incorporate short dance or movement breaks into the daily routine. Play music and let children express themselves through dance, promoting physical activity in a fun way.
