Keeping children healthy and safe

MemberFebruary 7, 2024 at 10:30 pmWhat is your biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe? As someone who doesn’t have children and is a teacher with so many children that I have to look after every day this is a question that makes me feel the most anxious. I think my biggest worry is that no matter the positivity within the partnerships i create or the connections and trust that I build with the families or the children that the child will still not be safe in this world.

With our society today, this is a very common and huge issue that I have heard many teachers/childcare providers worry about.

MemberFebruary 18, 2024 at 10:37 pmMy biggest worry with keeping children safe, with the world we are living in now, is how to keep a bunch of toddlers calm during a lockdown and just how to protect them. We have seen so many incidents in recent times and obviously, I hope to never be a part of one but I do worry about how to manage and navigate if it does. I am just interested in learning new ways to keep children safe or different options.

Some of the worries I have are keeping them safe from the other children (hitting, etc.). When I have to report an incident to a parent I naturally feel responsible even though it is hard to control every action. I also worry about keeping them healthy and well.

Similarly as to everyones response I would say shooting would be my biggest worry. Our location happens to be next to a secondary school, which feels like double the risk, and with many different bodies they wouldn’t understand why staying quiet is important. Another worry would be a child really injuring themselves, like a serious injury. Im usually really on top of keeping them safe and taking turns that i fear one day i will turn around and something will just go wrong.

For example, like getting bullied being treated less than the other children, drugs, and alcohol
