MemberNovember 19, 2024 at 8:19 pmTo create and maintain a good partnership between caregivers/parents and childcare providers, prioritize open communication about the child’s progress and any concerns. Listen actively to parents’ feedback and show respect for their values and parenting styles. Be supportive by offering resources and advice, and create a space where parents feel comfortable seeking guidance. Establish consistent expectations between home and childcare, aligning on routines, rules, and goals. Lastly, celebrate successes by sharing positive moments and milestones, reinforcing the partnership for the child’s development.

MemberNovember 21, 2024 at 5:36 pmMy advice for establishing and maintaining a good partnership with parents as childcare providers is to be completely honest with one another. If the parent thinks there is something going on at home that may affect the child, they should notify the staff, so they are prepared to help support the child. The childcare provider as well should notify the parent if they feel something is going on with the child. Then both parties should discuss what they should do moving forward.

MemberNovember 30, 2024 at 11:11 pmThe main way i create and maintain partnerships with families is i notice and pay attention to little things throughout the day, as well as the big things, to talk to them about when they pick up. This opens conversation to other questions that can help our partnership to help the kid continue growing.

MemberDecember 1, 2024 at 6:46 pmMy advice is don’t ever make the family feel like there”s a problem or there”s something wrong. Build relationships and trust with these families they are trusting you with their children, we all have the same goal to keep the child safe, educated, healthy, and making the child feel loved.

MemberDecember 1, 2024 at 7:05 pmOpen and Honest Communication: Both parents and childcare providers should feel comfortable sharing information about the child’s development, needs, and any concerns. If there are any concerns or conflicts, address them as soon as possible. Invite parents to participate in the child’s learning journey.
Set Clear Expectations: Clearly define roles, expectations, and policies upfront, including hours, communication methods, and daily routines. Understand that every family is unique, and be willing to adapt when necessary.
Respect Cultural and Family Value: Be sensitive to the diverse backgrounds, values, and beliefs that families may bring to the partnership. Show respect for these differences and integrate them into your care practices.

MemberDecember 3, 2024 at 2:46 amWhat is your advice for creating and maintaining a good partnership between caregivers/parents and childcare providers?
I would recommend to be honest and positive when communicating. Most times families can feel if you aren’t being truthful and I find asking them questions about their child helps us connect so they know I have their child’s best interest at heart. They need to know we will care and help their child grow and be a support system.
