Some of the best ways to help children recognize their emotions and control their responses are by describing some of the emotions they may be experiencing in the moment (such as “I notice that your fists are clenched up, your eyebrows are scrunched up, and your mouth is frowning. You seem frustrated, is that how you’re feeling?”) or by utilizing a displayed feelings chart for both you and children to make connections relating to their emotions. It’s also important to allow children to talk about how they’re feeling and calm down with you while you validate their emotions. We can practice deep breathing exercises together as well as doing body checks to check up on what big emotion they may be feeling.

For a 2-month-old infant, it is essential to use safe sleep equipment that supports their health and well-being. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that infants sleep on a firm, flat surface such as a crib, bassinet, or portable play yard that meets current safety standards. The mattress should be firm, with a fitted sheet that is snug and free from soft bedding such as pillows, blankets, or stuffed animals, as these can increase the risk of suffocation or sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The sleep area should be free from any loose items or toys that could pose a hazard. It is also important to place the baby on their back to sleep every time, as this is the safest position for reducing the risk of SIDS. Cribs should be spaced with slats no wider than 2 3/8 inches apart to prevent any entrapment. A bassinet or crib with a sturdy frame and without any soft padding or bumpers will ensure the infant is safe while they sleep. By providing the right kind of sleep equipment, you help create a safe environment that supports the infant’s growth and development.

For a 2-month-old infant, you should use approved sleep equipment such as a crib, or bassinet, that meets current safety standards. The mattress should be firm and fit snugly without gaps, and the sleep area should be free of pillows, blankets, or toys to reduce the risk of SIDS. Always place the baby on their back to sleep

A single level crib with a firm mattress and sheets that fit the mattress tight at the ends, so it safe for the infants. It will stuff animal free and bumper free.
