Screen time use is bound to happen, but it should be minimal and intentional, like it should be used for educational content. Too much screen time can limit outdoor time, which is crucial for kids to go out and explore, since kids learn best out in the real world, which makes them have sensory experiences, which is something you don’t get with screen time.

Screen time is a thing that I feel can be healthy when monitored & limited for the older children. For the younger, I strongly feel there are other ways to entertain them. Like listening to music through a tonies box or any other media outlet.

Javier, you offer a balanced perspective—limiting screen time while promoting alternative activities supports healthy development, especially for younger children.

Screen time in childcare should be used very little. Young kids learn best by playing and interacting with people, not watching screens. Babies and toddlers shouldn’t really have screen time, and older kids should only have small amounts with a teacher guiding them. If screens replace play or talking, it’s not helpful.
