    I think that for emergency drills and protocol it is important to have guidance policies. In addition, meal time prep and serving as well as storing medications and illnesses should have a written guidance policy.

    The childcare program written guidelines are essential for the protection of the facility, the caregivers, parents and the children. They are in place and validate what is expected and appropriate. The written guidelines/policies enable new parents, or any parent to be reassured that their child will be safe, nurtured and cared for.
