    Yes I believe posting and telling parents of behavior modifications used while at the center. This will help the parents and caregivers to work together.

    Definitely…in emergencies, or when communicating parents actions that have been taken, or giving parents an idea of what the guidelines are.

    Yes, they are useful any time a staff member is uncertain, or something becomes tenuous or sticky. It gives a clear compass for what you are allowed to do and not do, and keeps you ethical and compliant.

    Policies are specifically useful in illness, accident, emergencies and when there is challenging behavior from staff or children.

    Yes, when situations come up it can be hard to make the right decision in a timely manner, it is good to have a written policy to guide you. This is also very helpful for substitutes and volunteers.

    Yes. Any type of stressful event benefits from having guidance in writing because it can be hard to access those parts of our memory when we are under stress.
