    1. Which WACs address diversity and collaboration with families?
    2. What big messages do the WACs give regarding diversity and collaboration?

    – WAC 110-300-0160 addresses diversity and promoting acceptance of it in schools. WAC 110-300-0085 addresses collaboration with families and states that early learning providers must communicate with families on goals for the child(ren), gather information regarding their behavioral, health, social, developmental, and cultural needs, and seek support from families and staff to determine a game plan on how the program can add each and every child’s needs.

    – The big message is that diversity and collaboration are both very important whether they be in an early learning childcare center or in a high school. With both, we can find balance and work towards a brighter future in order for everyone: children, their families, and childcare providers to work and learn in a safe and happy environment.

There are many WAC that discuss working with a child and accepting their cultural diversity. 110-300-315 talks about modeling language and being aware of the culture the child comes from.
