Observe the children and find things that they want to learn about. For example, if you have a student who is super interested in the weather, teach them a few things about the weather that they can share with the class. Getting the children involved in the planning process can be really fun for them.

I think a great way to engage children in meaningful learning is to have hands on materials for them to explore.

some creative ways to get a child engaged is to set out activities with all materials to spark the interest of the child. If they can see an activity being offered to them they may be curious as to what it is and how it may work.

I would bring in different things that children might not be familiar with and let them explore the new items. I would ask questions to work on the senses.

Helping them build social and knowledge skills like during circle time having the kids say they’re name or the teacher saying they’re name helps too including songs with movements and using skills

I found that it is important to make sure that each individual childs needs are being met, that includes having a wide range of activities and tools to use for those activities. Understanding that students will need verbal direction, or a model, they may need to try many times, or just once, and that by making activities optimal for each student is my main goal. Everyone deserves an education and equal opportunity and that means providing an equitable supply of support.

A creative way to get children engaged in active meaningful learning is by asking them questions throughout the activity. An example is if you are showing a photo of something, you could ask the child what they see happening in the photo, and anything else that they notice. Another example is during art time, you could ask a child what they are drawing and what made them choose to draw that drawing.

What are some creative ways to get children engaged in active, meaningful learning?

Ways to get children engaged in active meaningful learning would be arts and crafts where they are able to have creative freedom with some structure and by asking questions that really make them think

In order to be creative and to have children engaged in learning and meaningful activities, you must learn what the child likes and interests. Especially when each child learns differently, and enjoys different things. What I discovered is that most children love social groups in physical activities, such as building blocks, arts and crafts, movement, etc. Example, when sitting in a circle, you can engage children into a song, “Head, shoulders, knees, and toes” and alternate per child then proceed onto a coloring activities by showing photos of each body parts they just learned through the song.

Have the children get up and move around for activites. have you teach some of the activity and have your assistant teach part of the class also.

Making learning enjoyable for kids is a blast. One cool idea is themed learning days, exploring activities related to a specific theme like animals or space. Another fun approach is turning storytelling into an adventure, boosting creativity and language skills. Taking learning outdoors, exploring nature, or having a scavenger hunt is a hit. Incorporating music, movement, and artistic expression adds a layer of fun, making lessons memorable. Science experiments, role-playing, and educational apps bring excitement to the classroom.

I love seeing kids play in the kitchen area as they pretend to make their foods and serve them and set the table and eat them. They learn so much.

I feel on most days the children are willing to join in on our activities. Sometimes we ask them to join in by asking them which musical instrument is there favorite or let’s make your mom a painting they usually need very little prompting.

Make learning enjoyable by using hands-on activities, storytelling, and music. Encourage outdoor exploration and align activities with children’s interests for a personalized learning experience.
