I think it’s important to prioritize discovery when planning activities. There maybe a specific way to do an activity but its important to emphasize to children that they can be creative and encourage them to experiment with the materials.

I really like writing books as an activity. I have kids draw and then ask them if they want me to write a story to go along with their pictures. My classroom has also been doing playdo recently, which I like because they learn to use a variety of tools.

Creative ways to get children engaged in active, ,meaningful learning would be to ask meaningful questions, make accommodations for student who need it, teach topics or hobbies that interest your students, and make learning fun, not just have them sit and expect them to listen.

Know where they are developmentally and ask them open ended questions.

I feel like when doing circle time having the children engage, getting served and returning to the child

Some ways to get children engaged in their learning is to choose activties where the children can make a lot of their own choices on which path they choose to take with their work. You can also try to make the project a reward and make it seem fun. One last thing you might do is do your own project with them while they are also doing their’s.

Having a learning activity that has learning behind it but a fun and captivating activity such as a song that’s fun and catchy but also educational.

To get a child engaged in an activity you have to show enthusiasm and be willing to participate in the activity also.
