Observation it a fundamental tool for child growth and development. By doing that providers can observe child in the classroom, gather all those information and be able to provide a curriculum development appropriate for each children needs, based on their abilities, interests and skills. Also, while observing you can keep in mind goals for each child. Documenting is very important because it give providers data about each child progress.

When given this information, the early learning provider is able to adapt and change the learning environment in order for the child to benefit most and feel comfortable in learning.

Observation and documentation of a child’s development help early learning providers by helping them recognize what the children they are caring for are struggling with. For example, observing and documenting that a child is struggling with holding a writing utensil can indicate that they may need more assistance in guidance in that area. Without proper observation and documentation, a learning professional could miss out on crucial opportunities to help promote a child’s development.

Observing children will give a teacher the information she will need to help each child progress with their strengths. Documenting these things will help keep track of growth and/or setbacks and will help keep information organized for teachers and parents.

Firstly, the provider will gain knowledge on development of the child. For example, if the child is developing the age – appropriate things. If the child is developing in an advanced pace or lagging behind with some of the common age appropriate things. This will in turn help the provider to help the child and guide him or her in the way and things that he/she needs help and guidance.
Secondly, By documenting the child’s development , the teacher can accordingly built the curriculum for him or her.
Thirdly, By documenting the child’s development , the teacher can also guide him / her in other things apart from academics. For example, if the child develops an imnterest in a particular sports , the teacher can guide him to take up that sports .

Documenting child’s development is very important . It helps the teacher /provider to gain more knowledge on the child. Its helps the teacher to better understand the child and thus according ly the teacher can help and guide the child in guiding , teaching the child, it helps the teachet to build the right curriculum for the child. It gives the teacher a better understanding of the child , therefore the teacher can help the child not only in academics but also in other things. Like if a child develops an interest in a particular sports, the teacher can guide him or her to take up that sports.
