Observing and documenting a child’s development helps us see which milestones they’re hitting and when, and whether those behaviors are appropriate for their age. Then, educators can create programs and activities that meet their children’s wide variety of stages.

Observing and documenting a child’s development can help providers know how they can provide additional attention to a child to better prepare them for kindergarten. Documenting progress with checklists can track their milestones and keep parents included.

    • Observing and documenting a child’s development helps early learning providers since children have their own temperaments, learning styles, experiences, etc which all are a factor to how they develop. Documenting these developments allows the child’s family and provider to see their development compared from the past and the future. This is also helpful since a child’s academic life correlates to outside school life. Observing and documenting also allows the provider to offer quality care towards the child’s needs.

It allows us to see if the development are heading in the right or wrong direction. If the wrong direction swift action will be needed to correct it. <div>
