We do a monthly zoom meeting were teachers and staff and collaborate on lesson plans and themes. We start with each person presenting one new activity they have planned for the coming month.

Great initiative, Katherine! Monthly Zoom meetings promote collaboration and sharing fresh ideas. Encouraging everyone to present new activities not only inspires creativity but also strengthens teamwork among staff. Keep it up!

At various moments I am able to use time during nap or after transitions to check in with teachers and get new goals or discuss things that are or aren’t working and find out where help is needed or most useful or strategies to regulate certain children with alternate needs

Since we don’t have team meetings at our center, another way we could collaborate is through a group chat. Once a week or when an issue arises, we could all be directed to the group chat to provide input and ideas. Once ideas have been discussed, the best options can be voted on by staff that participate.

We have weekly lead teacher meetings and then we have monthly employee meetings where everyone gets together and for our region and we talk about things that we need to do to improve and whatnot any issues we’re having and then we also get together once quarterly with all of the regions there’s five of them so we try to communicate a lot and we try to eliminate any problems that we’re having quickly.

We currently have weekly meetings with management and monthly meetings with teachers and rest of the staff. We also have fun faculty development day for staff where we play games to solve different situations and role play.

Boosting creative thinking at your Montessori is essential to fostering a safe, judgment-free environment where staff feel valued. You can spark collaboration by separating idea generation from evaluation, rotating leadership during activities, and using proven team-building exercises to build communication and trust.
