At the beginning of the year, a child in my classroom was very nervous to join the other students during free play time. After encouragement through showing joy by smiling, hold her hand, and joining the students with her for a few days, she was able to join other playing children. By the end of the year, this child was “best friends” with almost every child in class.

After a child went through some big home changes, they went through many weeks of really sad drop offs, and they were having a hard time thriving in care. With consistent attempts to welcome and comfort this child, we finally saw them begin to see school as their safe space, develop relationships with their teachers and friends in class, and now they are are such a happy, calm and very student, and always happy to be with us at school.

Having a positive and encouraging teacher helped in becoming confident, performing better, therefore earning high grades and behavior. Having a teacher that was grumpy and not excited about her work or what she was teaching, made the class boring and learning was limited.

The children in the rooms where the staff are more pleasant and upbeat seem to learn more and are happier than the children that have grumpier staff. Parents also are happier and complain less in those rooms.

Throughout my school years I had really great teachers who motivated me to do more in life and were nice and taught me what I needed to know. I am a pre-school teacher for 12 years because of the teachers I had when growing up that encouraged me to think positive and make a difference in my life.

We had a child added to our room because of behavior issues in his previous room. When he joined our room, he definitely wanted to test boundaries and felt like he had something to prove. We were able to win him over with positive attitude and kindness and bond with him. He was able to become part of our class.

I had a wonderful early childhood teacher. She was very kind and compassionate. She was very loving towards all whether child or adult. You could tell that she loved being a teacher. She inspired me to become a teacher.

My son had a hard time starting middle school. He knew none of the teachers, and was very intimidated by the size and changes. He met the school counselor who had the best smile and attitude. He would visit her in the mornings before school for the first couple weeks, and she made all the difference for him. He had someone he could trust and rely on if needed.

My children both had the same kindergarten teacher who greeted them with a smile every morning. I got to witness her teach my son virtually, and I was so impressed by the way she engaged with each student through a computer screen. Her smile, her use of their names, her laughter and positive reactions made each class session positive.

When a child is bitten by a dog at age 2. They have learned that dogs are dangerous and painful. Without proper support, this core lesson will continue into adulthood.

The people whose childhood experiences remain memorable are often those who believed in them and showed genuine interest in who they were. In early childhood institutions—often the first social environment children encounter outside the home—teachers must take on a role similar to that of parents. When an early childhood educator understands the child accurately, provides what they need, and showers them with love, the child feels positive emotions and a sense of fulfillment. Such experiences will be remembered as unforgettable moments in that child’s life

I have witnessed the beginning of each day in a preschool classroom. it is vital to be in a good happy mood for those young children n as they enter. A smile is way more valuable in helping a little begin his or her day. If a teacher is unhappy to see a certain child that child knows.

I feel that when you are happy and smiling then students are happy, feel safe, and are more confident.
