Can you think of an example of a person who had a significant early childhood experience that impacted them in the future, whether good or bad?

I have had experience with a range of age groups. I am now working with toddlers and they are always active and they love to play. I just smile a lot with them and they seem to react really well. When they are sad I comfort them and quietly smile and rub their backs telling them it’s ok. When I worked with preschool, I noticed they were more independent sometimes they needed that positive encouragement at times. I would just smile and slowly encourage them to try and it’s ok sometimes to ask for help. But yes smiling is contagious. If a child sees you smile they usually smile back.

Great insights, Jamie! Your positive interactions and encouragement clearly foster a supportive environment for both toddlers and preschoolers. Keep up the wonderful work!

I great everyone with a smile, get down to their level, hug and high five and just try my best to be a positive person in their lives.

I had a teacher who truly cared for me in third grade. I got pretty sick that year and struggled to keep up with school and my family couldn’t afford a tutor. She stayed at the school late to help me catch up and was always checking on me when I was sick. I became a teacher. I feel that same love for my students that she felt for me.

My childhood teacher gave me a lot of attention and always greeted me and made sure that I got to ask questions and feel contected to the class. I always felt I could go to her for questions and aswers.

I can take my own example as I was lost in middle school and going through a traumatic experience of my father being sick. I did not care about me and my results at school. A teacher saw me (I mean cared for me) and took the time to talk and make me feel like a student not a number. She changed my way and I started to care about my studies.

When I first had my first born, I was staying at home for the first two years to care for her. But then things got a little rocky I decided to enroll her into daycare while I worked. I though my decision to enroll would be something good for since she was not socializing with any other kids nor having that interaction with other adults. I think this was the best thing I did, it helped her in a positive way FROM THE START. She had a smooth transition that helped her be positive at drop off time. it helped her talk at 2 years old and be potty trained by 2 years old.

As a Daycare teacher I had a kid who was having a hard time going on the potty. His parents asked that we have him try about every half an hour and we sit there with him and encourage him to go. So everyday for weeks 3 teachers would take turns taking him to go potty and one day it was my turn and he finally went on the potty. After weeks and weeks of us trying so hard it finally paid off and then avweek later he wasn’t having any accidents and he was fully potty trained.

My Dad had a huge negative impact on me. He hardly smiled or laughed I only saw him smile or laugh when he had to or laughed when it was on his terms. It didn’t feel good growing up. I know now how important it is to smile at people not just at work but in youre enviornment!

My cousin Joe had a significant experience at school when he was a child. He had speech problems, which led to him being teased a lot. He eventually received speech therapy, but this marked a very difficult period in his life as he grew up, because he became a young man who was always on the defensive and even prone to violence.

My child was in a classroom with a stressed out teacher and 9 children on behavior plans. He began following and learning from all the negativity. He was being suspended and sent home a lot. We moved him to a more positive classroom with a new teacher in a new school and he thrived!

My niece is very kind and a loving person. My sister is one of the most amazing people I know. I cannot believe how her attitudes towards life and others have impacted positively in my niece. I have seen how she has learnt how to be patient and caring towards people and animals.

My mother, she was with me all the time from my birth till age 4 when i started prek. She was amazing but she was a clean freak and would always get on me from a young age for being messy. kids are messy and i think its caused me to be that way at work im learning we should let them be and make messes while teaching them to clean up when they are done not because they made the mess
