Can you think of an example of a person who had a significant early childhood experience that impacted them in the future, whether good or bad?

GuestJune 2, 2025 at 11:27 pmWorking in early childhood i have learned every day is a new day. Working with children is challenging but these children look up to you daily so everyday give them a hug and a smile and make their day better because we don’t know what truly goes on at home.

GuestJune 3, 2025 at 8:04 pmWhen a student comes in sad and not wanting to leve there parent, if a teacher goes overt the child with a smile and a great attitude and ia happy when speaking with the child they usually can get a child go and play something with them and get their mind off wanting the parent. If a teacher goes over to them with a angry face the the child is not going to want to go with them and play with them

Great insight, Annette! Your example highlights the powerful impact of a teacher’s emotional demeanor on a child’s comfort and willingness to engage.

GuestJune 4, 2025 at 12:21 amThis young girl I knew from a few years ago was held back in first grade because she wasn’t grasping any of the information given to her. We figured out she needed to be tested for IEP since she struggled with reading by herself. Once we figured out what we needed to do to make her successful it was truly amazing! I would say this experience was good since it helped her get over that obstacle.
-
Great example, Bailey! It highlights the importance of identifying individual learning needs early on for future success.

GuestJune 4, 2025 at 7:49 pmMy daughter was in the hospital the first couple of weeks of school. The teachers constantly called and checked in on her to make sure she was ok. They made sure she didn’t fall behind and supported her.

GuestJune 6, 2025 at 2:57 pmA very strict environment with lots of rules and time outs is very negative to a child vs a loving and talking environment that encourages them to grow and share.
-
Great insight, Heidi! Your comparison highlights the crucial role of nurturing environments in a child’s development.

GuestJune 12, 2025 at 11:18 pmWe had a teacher that was always in a bad mood, she would sit in a chair and just yell at the children almost all day. One time a child came up to her and wanted a hug and she told them not to touch her. The children didn’t want to come to school and when they were there they avoided her. She never smiled and even as a coworker I didn’t want to communicate with her. She made an uncomfortable environment and even parents started complaining. When she left the facility there was such a positive change in the children as well as the other teachers working in that room.
-
Thank you for sharing, Kristen. Your experience highlights the profound impact a teacher’s attitude can have on children’s emotional well-being and learning environment.

GuestJune 14, 2025 at 12:17 amI do believe having a genuine smile can make a big difference in a classroom. I think it’s easy to smile at children but coworker to coworker can be more challenging at times. I think if all teachers in the room try really hard to smile at each other and talk to each other in an uplifting way it really makes the environment warmer for all
-
Great insight, Tobyn! A positive environment fosters growth, and your emphasis on smiles and uplifting communication is vital for collaboration.

GuestJune 16, 2025 at 9:03 pmWhen my son first started at his preschool, he was close to being nonverbal. We used sign language and continued to further his language at home. After a few short months at being at his school, his speech improved and he is a completely different kiddo now. The attitude, respect and reassurance from his preschool teachers helped immensely.
-
Kylee, your son’s progress highlights the profound impact of supportive early childhood educators. Great job fostering his communication skills!
