I would make the center welcoming by hanging up pictures such as favorite songs , cd covers or real instruments being played by bands , perhaps some real sheets of music so they can see what they look like.

I’d probably incorporate a cd player or other listening device to play music on.

Some scarfs for the children to dance with either to the music being played from cd or by friends.

As for instruments I’d buy some inexpensive kid friendly ones as well as fun homemade ones preferably made by the children.

A music corner in the classroom should be inviting. If I was able to have a more permanent area, I would love to display real instruments in the area that they could use (being able to take them down and put them back up independently). I would also like a pop of color by using either artwork of instruments made by the children or using some song posters or musical notes or artist and composer posters to extend their interest and learning. A low shelf with baskets of handmade instruments and other instruments displayed would also be added.

Imagine creating a music corner in your daycare to bring joy and creativity to the little ones. How would you make it fun and engaging for them?

Whenever the children are nervous to start, I give them examples of how to use the instruments while also encouraging them to find new ways to create music. My lead teacher also has an activity where we listen to music and allow them to paint using a rainbow palette to show how the music makes them feel.

I would put some shakers, maracas, small drums, xylophone, and some pretty scarves for dancing with. I might tell the children that they can make a stage and we could have a musical performance.

In my music center, I want to have different instruments of all kinds. I will have different cultural instruments. I will also have colorful movement scarves and colorful posters on the wall explaining each instrument.

Displaying song visuals for well-loved songs in the music corner can truly spark creativity and imagination. Children can interact with the visual cutouts as they sing, using them to act out the songs or even invent their own tunes and stories.

A sound garden has always been popular at my center by attaching bells, and metal pans of different varieties. We’ve decorated with colored ribbons as well during the summer. Works well with our 1 to 2 year olds.

I would make it fun and engaging by using the instruments to play and sing to songs during circle time. This way when the kids are at center time they have already been exposed to the instruments. Additionally, I would encourage the students playing in the center to work together to create their own musical ensemble or song!

I would also put sparking lights in the music corner, so it looks like their on a dance floor and making their own music.

Music programs always do wonders!I am the dedicated Music teacher in the preschool/elementary school I work at. I meet with the preschoolers once a week, while the elementary it typically is 3x or 4x per week.We have grown from just having Music classes to having big performances – one in December, and one at the end of the school year around May or June. It is very surprising how much the preschoolers can do, considering we only meet once a week.The Music exercises we do in class everyday are really helpful – we employ singing (or any type of music) to signify transition; we introduce new words by putting them in popular kids’ songs; and lastly their experience working as a group strengthens their bond with their friends and teachers.

I have a box of various music instruments. In the center I would group toys by rhythm, sounds, shapes. As kids explore these instruments I would record their “performance” and send to parents. The video would be for view by the children too. If parents consent each child could select an instrument and playas a group. They could view at daycare and at home the group performance.

To make it fun and engaging I would add a variety of instruments that were purchased but I would also do some fun create an instrument activities with the children so that we could add homemade instruments to the area as well. I would add different books about music and music instruments to the area plus I would add a color through pillows to sit on, decorations for the area and making sure that the instruments were a variety of colors as well. I would also ask the children what they think should be added to the area so that they also have a say in helping to create this fun environment for them.

I would keep the music center in a big open area that allows for dancing and movement. I would probably have a big rug with some kind of musical images or cartoons on it for toys, I would do a mix of handmade instruments and some toy instruments for example, we have a kids electric guitar and keyboard at our daycare

I would first check to make sure that the music area is in an appropriate location. Far away enough from the library area that it wouldn’t be distracting. After putting some carpets and shelves to provide a way to help manage the noise if that area gets too loud. Then I would provide Instruments that come from all over the world to provide fun and creative exploration of music.
