GuestDecember 27, 2025 at 7:38 pmWhen creating a music center in the classroom, I would get a few instruments from different musical categories; percussion, pipe, string and wind on the shelves. I will also prepare a listening table where kids can listen to various classical music though CD player.A medium size rug for a small group to sit and play their choice of instrument and make a music together. And a audio and video recorder to save their music session. So, children can train their ears and work harmoniously with others.

Great ideas, Jiyon! Your thoughtful selection of instruments and the listening table will certainly enhance creativity. The recording aspect is especially engaging, allowing children to reflect on their musical experiences together!

GuestDecember 30, 2025 at 12:56 amTo create an engaging music center I would reach out to parents to ask for donations, as well as send out a note in our newsletter that shows specific steps to create certain musical instruments like maracas or drums. That way parents can be involved with creating our center and it gives families time to do a special activity together, if they choose of course. We could also spend multiple days creating our own instruments as a group together, giving the children a choice of instruments (with photos) and we could put it to a vote which one we make first. I also love the idea of learning new songs or rhythms that we could learn and practice together.

GuestDecember 31, 2025 at 10:42 pmFor a music corner I would want to put pictures on the walls nearby of people playing the same instruments open to them, or people playing music in concerts or parades. Seeing those pictures would likely be an engaging topic for them and encourage participation in similar ways.

GuestJanuary 2, 2026 at 6:41 pmI would make it appealing to the eye by creating a colorful music area. I think it would also be a good idea to maybe display instruments by hanging them on a wall (that they can also take off and use) so that the children can see them better.

Great ideas, Jade! A colorful music area will definitely attract the children’s attention. Hanging instruments for easy access encourages exploration and creativity. Keep up the imaginative thinking!

GuestFebruary 19, 2026 at 7:39 pmI think it would be fun to have instruments that relate to the weekly theme of the classroom. This would allow the instruments to be changed out frequently and kids will be able to experience a variety of different sounds. If available, it would be great to create a playlist of songs that go with the theme that can be played on repeat so the kids can play/sing along with the songs they are learning that week.

GuestApril 18, 2026 at 1:58 pmI’d make a cozy, colorful music corner with simple instruments like drums, shakers, and bells. I’d add songs, movement activities, and space for dancing so children can explore rhythm and sound.

GuestJune 27, 2026 at 1:22 amI would include child-sized instruments like drums, shakers, tambourines and rhythm sticks, along with scarves for movement and dancing. I’d also have a speaker for music or cd player, songs from different cultures, and plenty of space for children to sing, dance and explore music creatively.
