We use rhythm sticks for movement and brain breaks quite a bit. We also love using scarves with music. “Musical Tracing Maps” are amazing with scarves.

I would let toddlers move in ways that are fun and playful, such as dancing to music, pretending to be different animals, jumping, hopping, crawling through obstacle courses, and playing simple games like “Follow the Leader.” I would praise their effort, celebrate their successes, and make sure everyone feels included. I would also encourage them to explore movement at their own pace while keeping the activities safe and enjoyable.
