non-verbal communications such as smiles build relationships with my students and their parents. Because I smile a lot my students think I am nice and want interact with me. With parents I seem more approachable to talk to because I greet them with a smile.

I had a coworker in the past in the daycare field was not very loving or smiling to the children. A lot of the kids would not come to her or they will start crying when they see her. We talked to her about it even my boss although she’s been in the working field before. We had a few complaints from parents who weren’t very comfortable with her and to a point where she was being rude about some of the children to their parents we had to let her go.

In my experience, I have seen both positive and negative non verbal communications, in my school mostly positive interactions occur; for example the children smile and wave at all there friends when they both arrive and leave. Sometimes we get tears but most of the time we have smiles.

Having a teacher who smiled all of the time was so encouraging, especially during hard tasks in class. It made me work harder and not want to give up.

I had a teacher when I was young that always made me feel bad when she shook her head when she spoke to me like I never did anything right.

Children will be more fast to go to the teacher who shows them attention, love and caring in situations that the child is having a hard time.

A smile makes you feel better and has lots of benefits such as boost immune system, lift your mood, and words off anxiety. Even a head nod helps both people. The nodder and nody

.Smiling is important. This makes both children and adult feel more approachable towards you. If you frown then people will be afraid to approach you and will not want to communicate with you.

When my sister was 6 she started kindergarten, cried the whole way there, when we got to her class the teacher greeted her with a huge bear hug and a huge smile, she came home saying her teacher was very nice and silly, my sister is now 21 years old and still keeps in touch with her.

In my school years I can remember having teachers that were always grumpy, demanding, unhappy individuals. Their comments were undesirable and made me as a student feel unsecure about my relationship with others, because these teachers would make me feel that I was the problem to their unhappiness and therefor made me sad and unsecure about myself.
