To create good partnerships between parents and childcare providers, both should be open to differing opinions, and be willing to talk about strategies for the child. both parties want to help the child, and both parties need to trust that the other party does that, and is doing everything they can to help them develop. talking a little bit each day to get to know one another can help, so when more serious or longer conversations need to happen, theres already trust, respect, and familiarity there.

If you were the parent of a young child, what do you think are the 3 most important things that you want from your child’s provider?- keep them safe- let them be creative and curious- help them make friends and learn social skills with others their age3 fears i might have:- they get injured- they get bullied- they aren’t listened to or taken seriously by teachers and staff

Having a conversation about 20 minutes late actually being very difficult when it’s a common occurrence. asking why she is late and reminding her politely that its extra work and time for all of the staff when she’s late is disrespectful to us. its also scary for a child when their parent is late, and a lot of children can get very emotional, which is an emotional stress on them.

    1. WAC 110-300-0085 and WAC-110-300-0030 discuss diversity and collaboration with families, ensuring there is no discrimination and that child care facilities are required to communicate with families. 2. The WAC states that childcare facilities have to respect race, ethnicity, gender, disabilities, and culture, and cannot discriminate against any of the above. 3. One material to promote diversity could be play food from several cultures and not just a predominantly white culture.
