  • I believe a daily schedule is all about balance. You need individual play, group actives, teacher lead tasks, child led activities. You also need a good balance between play time and rest time.

    I think its especially important to have clear traffic patterns and activities that every child will have interest in. No two kids are the same. With that in mind it’s very important to have multiple different activities displayed throughout the classroom. For example, a music area, art area, science stations, library area, and lots more.

  • A good way to approach parents is to be emotionally ready for potential sad and upset reactions. It is also vital to have evidence, so the family knows your decision is not based on opinion but on facts.

  • Observing and documenting a child’s development makes it so an early learning provider can create a custom plan for each student. If a provider becomes aware that a student is more advanced than most, they can be challenged more than the other children. If a child is behind developmentally the early learning provider can adapt their plan to that child’s needs.
