Early learning providers can ensure the classroom has materials that will encourage a serve and return exchange, from books to toys or manipulatives. Providers need to monitor children to complete serves so that they can complete a return.

I would kindly remind the parent of the learning center’s late pick up policy, the difficulty the tardiness creates for the staff and child, but also work to find out what the circumstances are that are creating this issue. This can be done in a parent meeting.

The specific WAC addressing diversity is 110-300-0160. The WAC advises early learning providers to provide culturally and racially diverse early learning opportunities within curriculum, activities, and classroom materials and equipment. The WAC provides examples of this as well.

    1. What did you discover about the WACs while completing the activity? The WACs are very thorough and provide guidelines for early learning providers.

No, the WACs all made sense to me and were relatable to every aspect of my job.

Why or why not? Yes, the WACs will not only guide me as I learn the requirements to become a Lead Teacher, but will also hold me to the state standard as I care for children.
