What are your thoughts on screen time for children in childcare?
– During childcare hours I believe that kids should have no screen time, at home parents can allow it that is up to them but in a classroom, they can listen to music on a tablet or listen to stories but not see the screen.

How do you think early learning providers can create a “serve and return” environment in their classrooms?
– In a classroom you can create a serve and return during circle time for example asking questions like hows the weather outside and let the children look out the window and answer to the teacher or by singing songs with them.

What are some of the best ways to help children recognize their emotions and control their responses?
– In a moment of frustration the child should know where to go like a thinking sport or a relax area, for example in order for kids to recognize emotions teachers can show them book that show and describe emotions. By knowing the way they feel a teacher can talk to them and help them relax and calm down faster.

As an early childhood learning provider, What do you do when you start feeling compassion fatigue?
– When I start to feel compassion fatigue I need to take a moment step out or step to aside and breath try to relax on my own.

What did you learn from the Palm Tree Analogy?
– The Palm tree analogy is such an eye opening comparison the way the palm tree is compared to us as people suffering similar problems.
How can responsive exchanges with adults help children build the skills
they need to manage stress and cope with adversity?
– Parents and teachers are a great support to help children development, kids act better in school when they have a strong bond at home with adults and a strong bound at school with teachers. When you give children trust they will communicate with you any problems they are having.
