    – Ask the child questions for example what they like, what they are doing and if they need help.

    – Yes when there is an unexpected accident the childcare program written guidance policy is useful.

    What kind of sleep equipment should you use for a 2 month old infant?

    – For a 2 month old infant sleep equipment should be a crib with a firm mattress.

    – In order to make healthy habits fun us as teachers can make games out of tasting new veggies and fruits according to colors.

    If you were giving a prospective parent a tour through your program, what safety procedures would you highlight?

    – To begin as they come in i would be very welcoming I would show them around the class room all of the different areas for example, library, dramatic play and arts and crafts. To continue i would show them our energy routs and are monthly fire drills. Always advertise my child care center.

    What would you do if you suspected child abuse or neglect?

    – If i suspect child abuse or neglect i would collect information and speak to the child care director after that i would report it to CPS.

    My biggest worry about keeping children healthy and safe is making a decision for the kids that might not be the right one and we have a negative outcome.

    What is your advice for creating and maintaining a good partnership between caregivers/parents and childcare providers?

    – In order to create and maintain a good partnership between caregivers/parents and childcare providers is a lot of communication, take into consideration the parents needs and concerns and have answers for them. Don’t be judgmental towards them have positive feedback and also let them know the negatives.

    What are three fears you might have when leaving your child in someone’s care?

    – child not being care for

    – not eating when they are suppose to

    – not helping when they need support

  • What are some creative ways to get children engaged in active, meaningful learning?

    – To begin teachers should ask questions to the students to ge to know them a lot better and see what they like and what they are interested in for example if some kids like to paint and others like butterflies we can paint butterflies so both likings are taken into consideration.

    Do you have any tips or advice on creating and maintaining a daily schedule for children?

    – To create and maintain a daily schedule for children we need to make it fun, enjoyable for the children never forget snacks and meals but make it flow so the kids wont get bored.

    Are there any components of a good early learning environment that you think are especially important?

    – One thing I think is very important is having everything at the childrens eye level because the things in the class rooms are there for the kids not for the teachers. The classroom should be a warm welcoming place for kids and families.

    – Some good ways to approach a parent about the developmental screening of their child is having other opinions with other teachers, find resources online and let the parents you are letting them know for the child’s wellbeing. Give the parents accurate information in a nonjudgmental way.


  • How does observing and documenting a child’s development help early learning providers?

    – When you document observations you learn about the child’s needs, interests, strengths, skills and you try to see if there’s anything holding the child back from learning.
