Families have the most impact on a child’s well-being and development. From safety, to daily care, to nutrition, to nurturing companionship. Families are the first teachers of a child. How can childcare providers support families in this role?We can offer guidance when it come to a variety of needs a child has. Sharing our experiences with their child in the classroom can inform and support the families efforts at home. If a teacher sees a child may need additional support or expertise the family might not possess, we can refer them to the community resources that can help. Why is supporting families so important?By combining efforts to care for and educate the child has a tremendous positive impact. Information flows between the classroom and the home which ultimately strengthens the care and support a child receives overall.
