Observing and documenting a child’s development is required to be a child care professional. It’s needed to support the Childs growth. It’s the key to providing education!

NO screen time!!!!! Doesn’t help at all. Play outside, play with family, read books build with blocks, play with dolls, dance with friends, be bored and best of all stare at a wall and talk to yourself!

Creating a “Serve and Return” environment happens naturally, but I think being 100% present is the key. Sometimes our attention is in all directions and that can take away from “Serve and Return”.

Serve and Return is something we do all day with children. The child serves by reaching or asking so to speak for an interaction from us. Connecting by words a noise a look or expressions.The Return is us responding by eye contact, words, a lookers. It comes from the sport Tennis!

I think children thrive on routine and time. This gives them the predictability they need to feel safe and reduces anxiety. So they may not be able to tell time just yet but certainly they feel the environment. AND its just disrespectful to everyone.
