I discovered child care that is conducted in a private residence is required to have a license. For preschool children who are in the care of an individual for 4 or more hours, that facility requires a license as well. I found it interesting, not necessarily surprising, that if you are providing child care from a private home you need to have an area for child care that is separate from the private living quarters. The WACs will provide a solid structure for child care programs in Washington State, and ensures there is a baseline expectation for safety.
