I don’t think I have gotten to the point of stressed out with my job but if my lead is feeling stressed or overwhelmed in a situation then I will take over so she can relax and take some deep breaths. It is important to seek out support from others when you are in a moment of stress so that you can step away and do what you need to, to rejoin the class.

Deep breathing is an obvious answer but it really is so impactful.
I like to go outside on my breaks to get fresh air and that really helps separate me from work just for a moment and helps me feel extra refreshed when I come back from break. Communicate with your fellow staff when you are feeling overwhelmed. Having a support system around you is also very impactful. Sometimes just expressing what you’re feeling to someone and being listened to helps release the stress/ tension.

I enjoy listening to music and spending time with my parents. I also may de-stress by partaking in my hobbies or talking with friends.

For me, I enjoy tending to my indoor plant collection, spending time with loved ones and focusing on deep breathing. I have been trying to get myself into yoga as well!

Sometimes just breathing and relaxing maybe taking a break and using the bathroom or getting a drink of water or actually doing a work with the children. It is actually a lot of fun and very stress-free. I love to do meditation. We have a thing called the piece corner which is very helpful and the children love to go over there when it’s quiet and peaceful and it just helps them a lot calm their bodies down. And find peace in themselves.

Some of my favorite ways to release stress are reading fiction books that interest me; spending time with my cat, indoor and outdoors; cooking meals I enjoy with my significant other; during times when I am stressed at work, I really enjoy getting outside with the children and chasing each other around and just being silly in general. It lightens things up, and allows me a physical release of any emotional energy I’ve got stored up.

Funny, I take warm showers and then relax in my clean bed watching TV. I live at home with my six children so there is usually something else happening that can get my mind off work. But my me time is having full reign over the remote control.

Having a form of large-body movement that you are good at, and can default to if you’re too stressed to think of something else. I like yoga for this, but other things like weight training, archery, and axe throwing are good! They force you to think entirely about the activity, and release endorphins to help you relax.

Personally I like to fidget with a stress ball, and take time to myself and play a game that makes me think like solitaire, it engages my brain and helps me reconfigure myself.

After work I love to sing in the car on my way home, music has always been therapeutic for me so this is what I do when I am stressed. I also love to talk to my friends and family about why I am stressed to get the emotions off my chest.

Sometimes I find that after a day of work, I just want some silence, so on the drive home, I don’t listen to music or anything at all, even though I have a 40 minute drive home. At first, I thought I’d be bored, but it’s been really helpful for me to clear my mind and continue on with my day. I also really enjoy doing yoga to stretch my back and hips, which usually hurt after a long day of crouching down and having kids on my lap.

I like to discuss my day with my roomates and watch tv.
